Coastal Vulnerability Index toolkit

A spatial representation of natural habitats, shoreline characteristics, and infrastructure locations for the entire coastal zone of the United Arab Emirates has been developed to assess the vulnerability of these areas under climate change, and to quanitfy the risk-reducing properties of natural habitats. There are two versions of the toolkit, an "INTERACTIVE WEBSITE" version and an "OUTPUTS" version.

The INTERACTIVE WEBSITE version is a web-based tool to query and visualize the spatial information underlying the resulting Coastal Vulnerability Index. A series of user-defined maps help to visualize coastal hazards to the UAE shoreline and the role of natural habitats in mitigating coastal risks under climate change. Go to the INTERACTIVE WEBSITE

The INPUTS version provides access to the underlying inputs and the resulting coastal vulnerability index for each 250 meter stretch of shoreline. Go to the INPUTS version
